Capitol Hill Rowhouse
This project included designing renovations and an addition to a 740 square foot semi-detached rowhouse in the Capitol Hill Historic District. Maurice Walters Architect obtained necessary approvals from the Historic Preservation Review Board and the Board of Zoning Adjustment.
Renovations to the front façade restored window openings to their original sizes and increased light in the front of the home. An open floor plan increased natural light and views through to the new courtyard garden, giving the compact home ample space and connection to nature. A new 500 square foot rear addition contains a ground-floor living room, second-floor bedroom, and a green roof and terrace.
