Maurice Walters brings more than 35 years of experience in the design and entitlement of large-scale urban mixed-use projects throughout the Washington, DC region. Known for his design vision and clarity of thought, he is quick to see solutions and approaches every project with thoughtfulness and precision. His work spans a range of scales and typologies, with a focus on urban design, master planning, and mixed-use development that enhances the character and livability of the city.

With a deep understanding of zoning, building codes, and development processes, Maurice navigates complex entitlement and approval pathways with clarity and efficiency. Since founding Maurice Walters Architect in 2007, he has guided the firm’s work toward design excellence that balances creativity, constructability, and context.

Outside of architecture, Maurice finds inspiration through travel with his wife and time spent by the bay. He also enjoys playing guitar and running around the National Mall.
